Psychotherapy

I think everyone can agree that the ultimate goal of therapy is to feel better. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, unfulfilled, or like your emotions are “all over the place,” you’ve come to the right place. My ideal client is interested in starting the process of healing from past trauma or is interested in living a more fulfilled authentic life.

Therapy can bring up emotions from which you have been protecting yourself for a long time. Those emotions can be painful, but healing cannot happen when those feelings are left unresolved. Discomfort is a part of the process, and we will work together to make sure this discomfort doesn’t escalate to feeling totally overwhelmed or dysregulated. Being outside your comfort zone is where the growth and healing happen, and any time it feels like “too much” we can slow the process down.

My approach to therapy is culturally-sensitive, psychodynamic, and trauma-informed. I believe firmly that all therapy should be gender-affirming, be sex-positive (if relevant), and promote health-at-every size.
